Trial version doesn't unlock

I have a lifetime license. I purchased a new computer. I downloaded xyplorer. I tried to unlock my trial version with my username and password. I closed the application and restarted it, but the application says I still have the trial version. What am I doing wrong?
I have what looks like a user name and password but no "Key" I do not see where I could login and I have checked my email and have not found the key

Username and password have nothing to do with unlocking XY. You need the key that was emailed to you when you first registered.
If you can't locate that, send an email to
support@xyplorer.com and include the name and email address you used when you registered.

Apart from what phred said, why don't you take your registration details from the XYplorer.ini file from your old computer?

I had exactly the same experience. Bought a new license, did the installation, entered the name and key correctly. On restarting the program, the activation was not saved. Rinse, repeat. FAQ was not helpful, their email support was not helpful.
