Consistent tree expanding / collapsing behavior

Post by terrytw »

Right now, when you are at C:\Windows, if you expand D:\something on the tree, and then collapse the tree, nothing happens;

If you expand the tree further under C:\Windows, nothing happens

But only when you collapse the tree of C:\Windows, your current working directory will become C:\

To me that is quite inconsistent. I wish there could be an option to disassociate any operation on the tree from changing the current working directory.

The underlying rule is: the current node must be visible unless the tree is locked.

By "locked" you mean mini tree right?
That does make sense. Thanks for the clarification.

No, I mean Tools | Customize Tree | Lock Tree.
