Missing Thumbnail config details

There were some change for the thumbnail display in the last versions.
I didn't follow them but when I now let it show thumbnails
the file name is displayed below the picture but without the extension.
In details view the full name is shown including the extension.
Looking in the Thumbnail config, there is no entry to configure anything about the display of the file names
nor any other aspect of the optional display for other file properties.

Thanks that helped.
I did not use thumbnails for a long time
but I'm sure it was displaying the extensions,
and I never had hidden extensions.
What about having more options in the GUI for the thumbnails ?
Configuring all these by tweaks makes it hard, not only for newcomers.

The options, which control what data should be shown overlaid in the thumbnails.
There were discussions and changes in the last few weeks.

This is not really suitable for GUI configuration. Too many options. Too advanced. IMO, it's perfect for scripting. Users can easily share copy-paste scripts.
