Tree pane movement

Would it be possible to include an option to disable the contents of the tree pane moving sideways, and perhaps remove the scroll bar from the bottom of the tree pane? This is something that has annoyed me from back in the days of using windows explorer through to using XYplorer. Whenever I drag file/s into the tree pane window the contents scroll a bit to the left; a few drag & drops and the folder expansion buttons disappear. I've never found any useful reason for this behavior. Maybe pharmaceutical companies implemented it so they can sell me more blood pressure medication . 
If I want to edit a folder name I go to the parent folder then edit the folder name in the file pane.
....or perhaps there's a way around it using scripting?
