I was doing the routine drag of a few items from one folder to another – when the screens flashed. Two of the tabs were no longer working. One that was a sub-dir of the other gave me a “Location currently not available”.
The first directory was reset to a “dog1” dir that had a very short path.
The correct “dog1” had and has a 4 or 5-level path. The Ctrl Z in XY go-back has been no help.
All the folders appear to be there – but the fancy color coding, of all the items in the tree, has been shuffled or wiped out. This hints at the possibility of major problems – in my eyes.
1. I have plenty of backups but that route will wipe out 3-4 days of work on a database.
2. Or I can patch up what I have and perhaps end up with an unsatisfactory end result. All in the D: drive.
A Win 10 go-back was created last night of the c: drive. Perhaps that is where the color coding of the tree is stored. It is all a default desktop install years ago and has worked fine until now.
I’m leaning toward option 2. Perhaps do a go-back right now – since no data should be lost.
Any suggestions? Anybody?
