XYplorer v24.90.0100 & Windows File Explorer don't match

Post by jcb56 »

I just installed v24.90.0100 of XYplorer and the contents of some folders do not match up with Windows File Explorer. I can add files with ether one and they don't show up in the other. I have no clue why or how to fix this.

Thank you for your help.

After adding the files and not seeing them appear on the other app, try pressing F5 (refresh) to see if that brings in the missing files.

1. Yes I did try the refresh, but it didn't change anything.
2. I tried this in pre-existing folders, in a folder that was created in XYplorer and one that was created in File Explorer (of which is the reason why I purchased XYplorer...). none of which fixed this issue.

I was using a friends laptop which had XYplorer on it and that one never had this issue.
My laptop is the same type as the one that I was using, Windows 10 64-bit,yes its older, like around 8 years old. I have upgraded to the maximum memory, hard drives to SSD's, it was at the time when I got it was about $1,500 which is why I've kept it so long, it works. I have had to reload Windows a few times due to various reasons, and I was wondering maybe it was just a setting or something.

I can't seem to get the images that I have saved into this post. I'm not sure how yet.

Thank you.
As you can see, the XYplorer image more folders (0342 thru 0345) which I haven't had the time to add them in explorer.
Also the number of files in XYplorer is 27 vs the number in Explorer is 61.

Yes the name is different, because I haven't revised the Explorer one. They are the same drive.

I do think that you are correct. It appears that I have made a big mistake.
Thank you all for taking the time to help look at this.
I've got an IT friend coming over to fix this mess.

Thank you again.
