For the last year or so, XYplorer would not refresh, either automatically or manually, when I moved a file to another folder.
Thats not a problem now because I can't move files at all, let alone refresh them. I had this problem in V23 and it has persisted after upgrading to V24 this week. I can't drag n drop files to another location, nor cut and paste them. The only way I can move files to another folder is to do it in File Explorer, which sorta defeats the purpose of XYplorer.
Can anyone suggest how I can troubleshoot this problem?

Re: Unable to move files to another folder
For starters check these settings:
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Safety Belts | Disallow left-dragging from folder tree
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Safety Belts | Disallow left-dragging from file list
Configuration | General | Refresh, Icons, History | Auto-Refresh | Auto-refresh
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Safety Belts | Disallow left-dragging from folder tree
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Safety Belts | Disallow left-dragging from file list
Configuration | General | Refresh, Icons, History | Auto-Refresh | Auto-refresh

Re: Unable to move files to another folder
Thanks for replying to my questions so quickly.
One question: when you mention "check these settings", do you mean to click the boxes and put at tick in each of the boxes mentioned?
I assumed that was what you meant and did put a tick in the first two boxes and now I can move files.
The third box relating to "Auto Refresh" was already ticked. After ticking the first two boxes, the refresh problem went away.
Cheers,
Joe

Re: Unable to move files to another folder
So you now have this:
And now you can drag and drop files again???
And when you remove the checkmarks you (again) can't anymore?
This would completely negate the meaning of the checkmarks...
Code: Select all
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Safety Belts | [x] Disallow left-dragging from folder tree
Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Safety Belts | [x] Disallow left-dragging from file list
And when you remove the checkmarks you (again) can't anymore?

Re: Unable to move files to another folder
I went back and checked the drag and drop again after seeing your post. It works properly now. That is, checking the boxes disables drag n drop with the left button depressed and vice versa.
Prior to checking those boxes, drag n drop didn't work with either mouse button depressed. And just as frustrating, XYp wouldn't refresh either automatically or manually. Now it does. And those problems persisted through at least one upgrade.
I'm not complaining as my problems are fixed. I don't pretend to understand what caused or fixed the problem.
