Hover Box / Info Tip on LMB

I find both features very helpful

I want to use both at the same time, but I don't like when something is showing up while I'm just moving the cursor over the file names, so these settings are not for me

BTW, Show Hover Box overrides Show file info tips, so I don't even get Info Tip with this combination, I think it's a bug.

PPS: found a note in HELP

Note: When the File Info Tips and the Hover Box compete for the same place, the Hover Box always wins.

Still think it's a bug: when Shift is unticked for Hover and ticked for Tip, you should get Tip while holding Shift and Hover while not holding it. Only if both ticked/unticked then there is a competition and Hover should win.

But the thing is, I don't need both Left-click and Middle-click for the same thing. I can see that Right-click is different having its own sub-settings but the first two are the same.
Can you make it possible to use Left-click instead of Shift for Hover Box / Info Tip? It would be much more convenient for me to use all three without keyboard involvement.

I understand, but can you add Ctrl as an option (I can justify binding Ctrl to one of the mouse buttons but not Shift)
And also, please read PPS in the middle, I think there might be a bug there.

It says "Only while the shift key ...", not "Always while the shift key ...", but what you say feels natural. I'll just make it like this.

How about Ctrl? Not only can I justify it's being on my mouse, it's already there
Plus it would go in parallel with how Ctrl modifies the hover over Toolbar Buttons

PS. I just found out that if both Shifts are disabled it seems to already work this way. But in only one direction: it shows Info Tip when I hold Ctrl and Hover Box w/o Ctrl. I think there should just be an option to use Ctrl instead explicitly and in both directions like Shift.

When I hover over the icons in Tree holding Ctrl, it still shows Hover Box with the folder content. I just want this exact behavior for List, i.e. show Hover Box when holding Ctrl.

Similar weird stuff in List with Info Tip: if it's turned off, but Hover Box is turned on, it still shows Info Tip if I hold Ctrl.

Wow, so the tweak is already there (ofc it's there, it's always there! )
Are you sure it still works properly though? It was set to 0 default here and despite this it did invert the hover box into the info tip. And I just tried all the possible combinations of settings and wasn't able to make it invert in the opposite direction (info tip into hover box).

I've got one last request. Ctrl on icon works great, but sometimes by accident I place the cursor imperfectly (on file name) and it gives me the Info Tip.

It also shows up when I use Ctrl for the Cell Context Menu.

I need Ctrl with one of these two combinations of settings to show nothing on file name. Currently they both produce the same output (Info Tip).

Actually, the fact it shows Info Tip "Over the file name" again when the cursor is placed to the left of the icon is a bug. It doesn't happen w/o Ctrl (though it does happen w/o Ctrl for Clipped Item Tips which is also a bug). So it's kind of a request/bug report
