Looking at the catalog panel, when collapsing the menu, it is practically empty, space that could be used, for example, to preview a file.
Let's think that not all of us have wide-dimension monitors.

I don't see the benefit of such a preview.
The catalog area is much to small and there are many other ways to preview files.
