XP Pro 64 Problem

Post by grant »

Launching XYPlorer under XP Pro 64 produces the message:

"...application failed... MSVBVM50.DLL not found. Reinstallation may fix.." (it doesn't).

Any suggestions, please?

On a separate note, is there an alternative payment method to Paypal, eg VISA?

Thank you.

Grant.

So MSVBVM50.DLL is not part of XP Pro 64. New to me. First time since years that a user reports this problem. Anyway, here you can download what's needed (namely VB5 run-time libraries).

Click on the link to Msvbvm50.exe, download it and run it.

Of course, share-it! accepts VISA. Here's the order page: http://www.xyplorer.com/register.htm#shareit

Dear Admin (how's that for formality?),

Thank you for the info. Problem solved.

You said this problem hadn't arisen for a long time. Out of curiosity, why should it arise in new software (XP Pro 64), first time installation, on a new computer (all new components)?

Will also use VISA.

Regards,

Grant.

I guess it means that MS finally stops supporting one of its best and most popular products (VB). Fortunately their new OSs still support it after a friendly little kicking.

BTW, it's interesting that VB never really got rid of its image of being somehow inferior to C/C++, a claim that's is not true anymore since 1997 (release of VB5)! How a totally unjustified rumor just keeps surviving and reproducing reminds to the even older PC/Mac rivalry or to the single/dual pane file manager war. Again and again fundamentalist energies drive people into ridiculous fantasy worlds... :P

Thanks for using VISA.
