Previews of icon files

Many icons are containing several sizes and color depths. The preview and the thumbnails are showing always the first one. But this is the smallest one with the fewest colors. It would be nice if the last one would be shown. Or maybe all side by side (at least in the preview area)?

Yes, that would be nice to have. It's surprisingly involved though, so you'll have to wait for bad weather before I find the time to do it.
