Couple of "ideas" again...

Post by jacky »

Hey, me again ;)

couple of things I thought of. First with the little things:
  • In the right-click menu from the Listview, on a blank area, I'd like to see 2 new items on top of the list: Previous & Next.
I know about the toolbar buttons, I just think it'd be easier that way (I would certainly gain some time :D)

While on this, would mouse gestures be easy to add or not. Cause if so, I know some like up/down to go on top/bottom of the list/tree; and obviously left/right for prev/next would be nice. Not necessary, but nice :D
  • Something cool too, I think, would be "filters". Not sure where it would be, maybe on the tab (aligned to the right). Default would obvisouly be * but we could then choose to show only some files, like *.php or !*.exe stuff like that.
  • Last, something I think could be pretty usefull, especially when you're trying to sort some files, is a "full-content view" mode. Once activated, we would have on the list all the files and folders showned, including the subs! Something like this:
    Image

So in one list we have every single file on the current folder or somewhere in its (sub)folders. And then, we could copy/move files among thoose folders using drag&drop without having to go anywhere; and we always have a full view of what's going on.

Try StrokeIt, it works very well.

Here's a thread on that subject. I hope Donald hasn't forgotten about the filter suggestions.

- select files matching a given filter
- choose a font color for file types
guess only the second one has been done yet (Ctrl+M), so let's hope the 2 others will appear soon cause that be great :D
