Is there any way to make the tree look somewhat like it does in the Vista file manager? Under COMPUTER, XY has DESKTOP, DOCUMENTS, DRIVES, and NETWORK. I would like to also be able to have my user folder and the public user folder in that same list.
I have stuff in my user folder but ABOVE the documents folder that I access all the time. This is a carryover from using the Vista explorer for quite a while. I can't move these folders because I have a zillion links to them.
Right now I use a catalog entry to get there quickly but its still a little awkward. Thanks for the help everyone. This is an incredible product.

I know this has been discussed more than once here...but I'm heading to a meeting so I can't locate them right now...but I'm sure you can find them via search...anyway, AFAIK, this desired look is not possible and it's a due to a difference in methodology also.
And yes, it IS an incredible product! Thanks for recognizing that so soon!
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

I'm not sure what you mean here. While it is currently not possible to do it I don't see any problem to add this. I'll see if I can do that in 7.60 or so.j_c_hallgren wrote:Hi and welcome to the XY forums!ksprunk wrote:Is there any way to make the tree look somewhat like it does in the Vista file manager? I guess a more precise way to say would be it would be useful for me if there is a way to make the default tree for XY look like the default tree in Vista's Explorer.
The biggest single issue is that in the second level of Vista's explorer (and in my old Explorer Plus on Vista for that matter) there is a folder labeled "Kurt" that happens to be "c:\users\Kurt". In XP all of one's system defined folders (pictures, music, etc) are underneath "Documents". In Vista they are not. They are underneath "c:\users\Kurt" and documents just happens to one of them.
If I could figure out a way to attach a couple of small screenshots I would but it appears that I would need a web site to do so. Perhaps I am wrong about that.

Yeah, you can't attach screens here. Just take them, up them to TinyPic or ImageShack and paste the code of the image with appropriate tags either side and voilà!ksprunk wrote:If I could figure out a way to attach a couple of small screenshots I would but it appears that I would need a web site to do so. Another choice is http://www.PhotoBucket.com which is what I've been using...I then post the PB generated "IMG" links to a clickable thumbnail here.ivan wrote:Yeah, you can't attach screens here.
