1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Continuous notification of language file updates

Post by Gabardino »

Hello everybody,

I run XYplorer (rel. 28.30.0600 - 64 bit - portable version) on my Windows 10 PC and have noticed that every time I launch it, a pop-up appears informing me that a language update is available. Even if I click “OK”, the message reappears the next time I open XYplorer.
This notification relates to the new translation of the ‘Italian_8.405.lng’ file.

Thanks in advance.

So if you are using (an outdated) Italian language file, why wouldn't you just download the latest version from this forum and be done with it?

If I click ‘OK’, the language file should update automatically. However, even if I download the latest version of the language from the website and then select the file from the ‘Help’ menu, nothing changes.

So the usual questions then:
  1. You have write permissions in your XY folders to save settings?
  2. You save settings on exit or manually after the new language file should have been activated?
  3. Does it work in a fresh instance (type fresh; in the address bar)?

I solved the problem by running XYplorer as an Administrator.

Many thanks for your help.
