I love XYplorer and use it daily, but I have a performance issue that I hope you can improve in a future update.
From time to time, after using XYplorer for a long time, the thumbnails will randomly glitch or show corrupted images.
The only way to fix this is to clear the thumbnail cache and rebuild it completely.
When I do this, the thumbnails (96x96) load extremely slowly—almost one thumbnail per second—because the process uses only the CPU for image decoding and cache generation.
Meanwhile, my NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti GPU is fully idle during the entire process. The fan doesn’t even spin; it’s completely unused while the CPU handles all the work.
Modern file explorers and image viewers use GPU hardware acceleration for thumbnails, which can load hundreds of images almost instantly.
Could you please add a GPU acceleration option for thumbnail generation and cache rebuilding?
Similar to how antivirus software and other programs use GPU acceleration for heavy tasks.
This would make cache rebuilding much faster and reduce the frustration when I have to clear and reload thumbnails due to glitches.
Thank you for your hard work on this amazing file manager!
Suggestion: Add GPU acceleration for thumbnail generation & cache rebuilding

Re: Suggestion: Add GPU acceleration for thumbnail generation & cache rebuilding
Good idea! I put it on my list.
That should not happen. Are you maybe using different instances sharing the same thumbnails cache? That would explain it.The thumbnails will randomly glitch or show corrupted images.
