Can't get 'Flatten Folder' to work?

Post by chumbo »

it used to work, don't understand what happened?
I do what I always did: select a number folders, right-click, choose 'Flatten Folder' and voilà!

Works with a single folder as usual (and in general never worked for multiple folders, only the first one)...

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I was able to do multiple folders before (almost certain in fact).Anyway, for now, even with one folder, it doesn't work:

You're flattening TEST in ..\TEST and TEST contains one file afterwards. So where is the problem here?

Uh...that was a bit confusing. All I can say is that 'Flatten Folder' has zero effect. It doesn't change anything.
I start with this folder structure:
/TEST/TEST/Test.pdf
I click 'Flatten Folder' and I get....
/TEST/TEST/Test.pdf

It didn't change anything (and from what I can tell, that's exactly what's happening in your gif as well. The child 'temp' folder doesn't get deleted)

Admittedly, having everything named TEST is confusing...sorry!

So let's imagine I had named them more appropriately....
/PARENT/CHILD/File.pdf

from running the 'Flatten Folder' on CHILD, I was expecting:
PARENT/File.pdf

/TEST/TEST/
does not have any subfolders that could be flattened so ofc nothing happens here^^

Do it with /TEST and it would look like what you're expecting!
