Hi.
It is the same size of XYplorer window.
Could you help me to fix it to something like 700x160 ?
That happened after testing a lot of old games that resizes desktop resolution.
* I searched forum for all words quick search and "quick search" but
the results were always for any word > 8k+ results.
Thank you.

Lack of detail. Come on, spit it out. With a screenshot.

W10 22H2 19045.
Screen res is 1920x1080.
XYplorer 32 bit portable no drive C.
Using an older version of XYPlorer (I back up after every upgrade) it appears normal.
It has already happened before few times but returned to normal by itself, usually in the same section (no win restart).
This time, it is the 3rd day opening this way, by pressing F3 or the quick search button on the toolbar.
In fact, because of other sporadic weird windows behavior like
.txt files does not open from sandbox many times,
Win search box disappears frequently,
logon image shows the default win image,
it is possible to be a Windows problem, if there is no configuration for the size of the F3 window.
I have only SSDs. No mechanical HD.
Checkdisk always shows no problem.
I installed XYplorer x64 portable inside the sandbox and it works fine.
The imminent solution is to copy a new version of XYplorer over the previous version
I did not do it this time because of some configurations I changed recently.
It would be more comfortable just to know if this size can be managed, to keep the recent configuration.
I overwrote the files now with the last version, keeping the configuration files. No change.

Weird. Can't explain.
It's not 100% reproducible but comes sporadically?

Re: Quick search window immense
Now, always opens this way, the 32 bit on C:
A month ago, using these same config files, I installed the x64 portable inside sandbox.
Some times, both were opened at the same time. x86 dealing with normal OS and
x64 dealing with the games inside sandbox.
The old win 98/XP games really make a mess with video resolution (Geforce GTX 1650),
Windows changes size and position at will after closing games that request flash, 3D or openAL
Now, it started to happen one other thing:
Open normal 32bit on C:, click anywhere on the XYPlorer window and it disappears.
It is opened on task manager but it is not on taskbar or minimized.
Launching the recently downloaded pack decompressed in the folder "Downloads", it works fine, with the default configuration.
Looks that one of the XYplorer config files is corrupted.
This is what it seems, after all.

Re: Quick search window immense
I don't think any corruption could be responsible for this. But you can always try a fresh instance. Simply paste
fresh; into the address bar and press ENTER. Then try F3. Is it still oversized?FAQ | XY News RSS | XY X

Re: Quick search window immense
Thank you, admin.
I solved it yesterday night.
Once x86 and x64 are working fine in other folders with the same config files,
I renamed the default folder and it became fine.
After checking everything is ok, I deleted the old folder and renamed
the new folder with the old name.
For reference only, 3 months ago "TextEditor Pro" started opening 40 seconds after started.
This same procedure fixed it but in that case, the problem was the item "96 DPI" in its config file.
Although I found nothing in registry nor in the NVIDIA panel, it worked.
