Weird interaction with "Extract here..."

Post by pweasel »

Hey there, long time lurker first time poster.
Screenshot 2025-12-29 203602.png
Freshly installed windows 11 25h2, had winrar installed but uninstalled it and got 7zip instead.
When I try to right-click-drag a rar file and choose "extract here" I get the error in the attached picture.
Any ideas on how I can fix it? double clicking it opens 7zip correctly and right clicking it to show "Shell Contect Menu..." works as usual.

Is your Custom File Association for 7Zip correct?
Tools > Customize File Associations.

Quit XY
Open your XYplorer.ini file

Make sure that these lines look like this:

Code: Select all

ZipPathUnRAR=
ZipPath7zip=C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe
ZipExtractUse7zip=1
