Copy completion popup

Post by hermhart »

I've been noticing that most times when a copy process finishes, a box pops up for a split second, that there is no way for me to be able to get a screenshot of. I have not changed any of my configuration and this seems to be something new that I am noticing recently. It also seems to grab the focus for that quick moment. The image below looks similar to what I have been able to see from the quick glance I get, and I believe is the title of the box:

I am using XYplorer version 28.00.0200 (x64) on Windows 11 25H2 Enterprise.

If it helps here are by screen settings:

Code: Select all

1) Does it pop up at the same place as the progress dialog?

2) "most times when a copy process finishes" ... is there a pattern? Does it happen always with certain processes, never with others?

1) It does not pop-up at the same location as the progress dialog. My progress dialog I have located off to the side of XYplorer and this pop-up shows up in the center of XYplorer itself.

2) I have tried to figure out if there is any pattern, but have not been able to see any specific commonalities. I do notice it more often when I am doing multiple copy processes across network locations, but unfortunately, that is not always the case.

I cannot reproduce it here unfortunately. Does it also happen with foreground processes?

For the amount of copying I do around my work network, I always do everything as a background process. Sorry I do not have more to go on. Should I find a commonality, I will definitely respond back. Since nobody else is reporting it, perhaps it is just a setting with something on my end. Hopefully someone else will see this and find a commonality. Thank you for taking the time to look into this.

Just wanted to post in here that I finally was able to get a screenshot of the real quick popup I get after a copy finishes (though not all the time) and steals focus for that quick moment. I use XYplorer in dark mode and surprisingly, this always comes up as you see it, in a non-dark mode. Wish I had more to go on, but hopefully this little bit helps. I will post again if I can find any commonality to go on.

Just wanted to add an update. I only seem to have this when I am copying to a network drive (not locally) and then many times when I copy from a network drive to another network drive, of which, both of them seem to be slower. Also, I am doing this over a VPN to my work.

I don't see any way, even theoretically, for this to happen. It must be some weird tB bug. It might disappear with the upcoming tB bug fixes.

Just wanted to give you the heads-up that since I updated from v28.10.0100 to v28.10.0200 yesterday, I have not been seeing this weird popup anymore.

I noticed this too! It’s a nice touch, but if it's getting in your way, you can actually tweak how long it stays on screen (or turn it off entirely) in the configuration. Just head to Configuration > File Operations > Custom Copy Operations > Configure... and look for the popup settings there. Personally, I find it handy for long transfers, but for quick local moves, it can feel a bit 'extra' lol.
