Hi all,
I am evaluating XYPlorer and so far really enjoy the features. But, while trying to customize the top menu bar, I am running into an issue where I can't seem to configure the layout and font size to be exactly like the attached.
Based on my research, it appears that the layout that I'm looking for isn't possible? Ideally, I'd like to:
- Icon on the left
- Text label on the right
- On hover text/font size to be configurable (e.g. smaller)
I've been able to modify the icon and text label size based off CNTRL + Mouse Wheel and CNTRL + SHIFT + Mouse Wheel, but even trying out the various choices under "Options," I can't seem to get that layout setup, or change the font size when I hover over the icon/text label.
Can anyone advise? Thank you.

Re: Customize Top Menu Bar
Welcome to the club!
Assuming you are talking about the toolbar, button captions (showing them is optional) can only be shown below the icon at the moment*, with the exception of bookmark buttons where the caption is always shown to the right of the icon (even when button captions generally are not shown).
* To show them optionally to the right of the icon is an idea for later.

Re: Customize Top Menu Bar
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. Do you know when that type of layout and customized configuration might be available? I just started on a trial and playing around with all of the features (they're great!), and was wondering if this is something that I might be able to configure in the near future, or if it's slotted in the backlog for much later.
I'm also curious to know if it's possible to have the ability for the left sidebar and the right panel to have separate breadcrumb areas (but they don't have to do/show the same thing?) For example:
Right now, I see that the default layout is the path bar on top, with the breadcrumb below, and spanning entire width.
And is there any flexibility in moving the tab bar around? Currently it is defaulted to the top:
But I'm wondering if it's possible to move the tab bar to the footer area in the right panel footer?
I'm also reading up on the Sync feature, and from what I understand, it is a 1-way sync, and not a 2-way sync. My use case:
- I'd like to install all of my programs to whatever their default file location is
- But would like to setup a separate folder elsewhere and real-time/hourly/per day sync the config file (ideally just the file itself would be best, but I guess the whole folder if I have to) to the target location so I can back them up
- The goal is if I ever re-install to a new laptop, XYPlorer detects the delta between the source-to-target files and I just restore all of the latest sync'd configuration/setting files from the target location by hit some type of a "re-sync from target" button and it will restore my customized settings/configs, and continue real-time syncing.
Is this something that's possible?

Re: Customize Top Menu Bar
For backing up the config file(s) of your various applications, I suggest SyncBack Pro. You can sync individual files, folders, or entire drives. On a schedule or on demand. It's highly configurable. I don't think XY can do this without making use of some heavy scripting. I haven't delved into scripts yet but there are others here who a Masters of Scripting. They may have some suggestions.
The tab bar can not be moved to the bottom.
EDIT: Typo

No, these things are not easily added. You've got bad timing, since all our current power is going into the shift from 32-bit to 64-bit. We may look at the layout and other things later this year.
