[solved] custom icons do not show anymore

Hello did something changed in the way the custom icons for files and folders are managed ? Even custom empty folder icon is down.

Nope, everything is fine here.

I suspect all the icons have been replaced by a generic icon from WPS Office - https://www.wps.com/. This office suite changed a lot of default programs when installed - from pdf to images (!).
I will probably uninstall it to check if it’s the culprit but I wonder how it can override XYplorer features.

I was wrong, It comes from an application I don’t remember I have installed it : Snipping Tool - from Microsoft ?

After some searches : the icons are .ico files. And, by default, in my Win 10, the extension .ico is associated with Snip and Sketch App from Microsoft. I don’t have any idea how to change that so XYplorer won’t be fooled.

Fixed. I changed default application for .ico extension to Painter and the icons are back.
