Adjust (reduce) the navigation pane

Is it possible to set somewhere that the navigation area adjusts to the active tab? Without this possibility the navigation area gets bigger and bigger with many tab changes and has to be reduced manually. The Tablacus Explorer works like this, it's very convenient.
