@Don: I am just mentioning this as a possible opportunity for more startup efficiency, you might be able to answer my query instantly and say it is irrelevant, but anyway I thought it might be worth mentioning. Since you changed the subfolders existence check to come late, and added it to the logging, I noticed that in the Exist Late list my Links folder (which I have only 20 lnk files in, no folders) is always the first and the slowest to process ~100ms the first time (sometimes it is listed twice, as are other paths), but I am wondering why it is even in my logging since I have the Links folder disabled from my Tree completely via config, and hidden by ghost filter in my virtual user\Links folder, the same goes for Desktop but that is processed much faster.
The entries I am referring to are eg. Tree Check Subfolders Exist Late: ?:\*

Re: Loadtimes logging
I could see that as well and did some experiments. It turns out that the problem is not the Links folder, but the *first* folder to go through this test (due to some one-time initializations). So if I removed the Links folder, then the next folder in line (Downloads) would be slow.

Re: Loadtimes logging
BTW, I will remove "Tree Check Subfolders Exist Late:" from the log. I was just meant for debugging anyway.
