[Fixed] Dragging Over Shortcut (an Offline Workstation)

hi! i have a shortcut/LNK file in a folder that points to my other workstation. on occasion, this workstation is powered off. when i happen to drag a file over the shortcut (not to drop it on, just passing by, dragging from bottom of list to top, etc.), there is approximately ~15-20 second delay (blue spinning circle) until it realizes it is off, then my drag continues.

what setting do i need to adjust to allow it to pass over instantly as it does when the workstation is on (no delay when the workstation/share is on) ?

hi! i'm not sure about this. the workstation isn't shown anywhere in my tree or list. i use the mini-tree and keep it clean so there isn't a history of it there. the only reference i have of it that i interact with is the shortcut. the shortcut just contains \\remote-workstation-name\share-name.

when the other workstation is on, i can drag over it instantly with no pause or timeout at all. if i hover it, it even shows the resolved path of the share on the remote workstation (which is pretty cool). but if that workstation is off (and i forget) and happen to be dragging show that passes over it - ~15-20 second delay.

i do a lot of dragging in the file list or between panes. i only run into delays when i pass over the shortcut if the workstation is off. i thought maybe the "Assume that servers are available" option would kick in and prevent the delay.

Okay, got it. Should be better in next beta.

fixed in v24.90.0116 - 2023-09-10 11:08 ! updated and tried it out and it worked perfectly ! there is now NO DELAY when dragging over the shortcut and the other workstation is offline.
