Office 365 applications don't launch until XY loses focus?

I have a regular issue where I double click on a file with an associated Office 365 application (.docx, .pptx, .xlsx) in an XY window.
Nothing happens until I Alt-tab or click on another window other than XY. Then the Office application opens a window with the file.

It doesn't happen every time, but enough to be annoying. I have not determined any pattern or pre-conditions for when it happens.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix?

Does it happen only on double-click, not on ENTER, or via context menu?

I changed a tiny bit in v24.90.0116. Let me know if it made any difference.
