Setting question: Tree view should not jump to path of the tab

Post by Bolzgurke »

Good day dear XYplorists! I find it a little strange that I have to ask my questions in English for a programme from Germany by a German programmer, but it will work. I just hope that the special technical terms, which I also have problems with it in German, are understandable. :)

My question is:

What do I have to set where, so that in the file tree (i.e. in the left column) the previously selected folder (extended to subfolders if necessary) always remains visible, regardless of which tab is selected in the file list (on the right)? Unfortunately, I still have some problems with the assignment of terms in the settings (such as Junctions, Zombies, Turn list [Wende-Liste], Virtual folders [Virtuelle Ordner], Overlays, Breadcrumbs [Brotkrumen], Mini tree [Minibaum]... - well, I could probably think of more).

So far, as soon as I click on a new tab I've created, the selection in the tree immediately jumps to the path of the tab.

I hope that my explanations are understandable.

Thank you very much!
Einen schönen Tag zusammen!

Gruß
Ari

Hi and welcome!

try Tools | Customize Tree | Lock Tree

Don

PS: The app is meant to rule the entire planet, so English is the language of choice.

Very nice! Thank you.

These thousands of settings overwhelm me a little.

PS: " Ruling" the planet? Ha! Who doesn't want that, except me maybe? Good luck! :D

Understandable. But you will quickly find your preferred configuration and never have to worry about settings again.

Maybe. If that's true, then I guess that's what I'm working towards. ;)

Is there a way to save the settings across systems (when switching the OS)?
