Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
how about keeping vi: ?
come on, you must at least give some reason.

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
haha! you're right. when you first introduced it as "virtual" i instantly thought, that works, but "vfo" just sounds more cool. i was going to suggest it and then bam!, a new beta with a new prefix.
honestly, it could be called "dirtysock" and i would still use it. taking a little getting used to, but so far the examples i have tried i have liked and pinned.

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
I like "vi:", to me it looks hip and mysteriously ambiguous (could be virtual, could be view, could be vinyl), and it's short.
PS: For a moment I also thought about vfo:

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
I will just mention it here, since it is loosely related, but something I noticed is that if get variables are used in the titlebar template they aren't resolved when on a VFO tab. BTW this new VFO feature is amazing, very useful.
edit: Since other people are now pitching naming suggestions, sticking with the 2 chars mine would be vl: for Virtual List, but if sticking with the current vi, it could be doc'd as an acronym for Virtual Items, so that vi: seems less ambiguous.

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
If i may, i'd propose to add one letter: VIR = VIrtual Directory. Kinda resembling old well known DIR, plus makes prefix less resembling some "visual~" features acronyms.

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
For the two (?) release notes where the "virtual" prefix was originally announced - maybe add a note that it later got changed. People will refer to those for usage.

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
I would suggest: vdir, also for virtual directory

Re: Virtual Folder Prefx
I did this to save space and typing. Come back if you find anything narrower than vi (anything that looks like "virtual folder" and not a drive letter).
