I'm revisiting this thread instead of creating a new thread. I hope somebody really gives a good look.
Not being rude but, why can't we just add an option for users to use mouse wheel to change views? rather than relying on autohotkey or other complicated steps?
Right now I have turned off option to use mouse wheel to resize UI font. But I hope to see an option to use mouse wheel to change different views and thumbnail sizes.
All I'm asking is just an option. Maybe please?

Next beta will have a tweak.

I like it so much I'll add an official setting for it. :)

I wonder whether the "Details with Thumbnails" should be moved down a bit to the slot between "Large Icons" and "Small Tiles". That way you could quickly move back and forth between the popular views "Details" and "List" without crossing a view that triggers thumbnails generation.

Or even to the very end of the list. Then you can wheel-up to it, and wheel-down to "List".

Hm, I see I'm the only person here who don't like the idea. What is complicated to add and then to click the corresponding buttons on the toolbar?

What I personally use is Details, Details with Thumbnails, and Thumbnails. I have a custom toolbar button for each of them, and each of them unpresses the other two. Easy and just perfect. :)

Hi Don, why not go with a CEA for scroling in some areas of XYplorer. Users could then use scripts or keep scrolling as the current default. I recently wished for a CEA for scrolling in the toolbar area here (still open) viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24319 . Thanks.

Well, step by step. In general, many users seem a little overwhelmed with CEA, and (LOL) I'm still trying to keep things simple.

Though hopefully, many of those users you're referring to will one day use and really appreciate CEAs and the flexibility they offer.. :)

This is cool! It's so fast too!
Just wondering if it could be tweaked a bit?

I'm used to scrolling in the opposite direction, upwards makes thumbs bigger, downwards goes smaller and into details.
I can simulate this by switching the Thumbnails Size #1-3 into reverse order. So now it goes 'Details', 'Details with Thumbnails #1', '#3', '#2', '#1'. Maybe there could be a tweak for setting which views/order you want to cycle through? I personally only really use Details + Thumbs#1-3. List/Icons/Tiles are only used if I specifically need them so scrolling through them is jarring :kidding:

I'd also like to make a small request - the tweak of disabling the looping back through the views.
It's much easier to spin the wheel downwards and always know you'll end on the Details. Or always know no matter how far/fast you scroll up, you'll stop at Large thumbnails. When it loops back I need to be much more careful and precise with the wheel.

Thanks again for the feature!

I find WheelDown=Next and WheelUp=Previous quite natural; it's also handled this way in File Explorer.

But I'll add a tweak anyway. It will also cover your other wish. I'm sure many others will benefit from it. :)

That's interesting, I use RMB+WheelDown for next tab and RMB+WheelUp for previous tab (in XY and browsers) because it feels natural.
But in Windows Explorer I got used to their Ctrl+ WheelDown smaller / WheelUp bigger for thumbs :)

As tweaks aren't always mentioned in beta branch, what exactly will that tweak do? Will it allow to specify just few view variants to scroll through?(skipping those, not mentioned in tweak)

It'd be great if this scroll wheel feature had a keyboard shortcut equivalent, something like a "Next view" hotkey which could use the same tweak to specify a few view variants.
