Scheduled Tasks
Please consider the idea to schedule tasks.
If I want to backup files to a external storage every x days at x times ( and possibly to Dropbox, Azure, Amazon, etc ).
If I want to re-scan and update my entire C drive Search Template
Maybe run a script, UDC, Catalog Item, etc
Thank you...JGM

Re: Scheduled Tasks
I gave it a good thought (about 5 years) and yes, that sounds like a good idea. The catalog could be a suitable place to host some chron jobs (which would take the form of scripts). Needs more brain storming...

Re: Scheduled Tasks
but timers usually involve constant time checking and doing task in right moment, while XY can do only one script at a time... that's why i'm surprised how this can be realized.

Re: Scheduled Tasks
it could be a parallel ghost instance, running invisibly in the background

Re: Scheduled Tasks
Or a script scheduler that starts the next task after a running one has finished

Re: Scheduled Tasks
Is it possible to turn on the dark mode on time? From 23:00 to 07:00 for example.

Re: Scheduled Tasks
wonder if this "parallel ghost instance" is in close mind or idea for future?

Re: Scheduled Tasks
Actually: May I add my wish to use variables in Catalog Titles (I once searched for a way to get File Version Info into Catalog Titles, these cron jobs (once realized) would be perfect to fetch my variable info to be added into the titles)
Purely textual variables (no true dynamic content required for me) would be enough.
