In a way I'm agnostic on these, since I rarely notice them. But given my choice, I can see the old, plain ones easier than the new 2D ones. They look great, though.

Well, I didn't think there was much difference at first, and maybe that stil true on white background you might not notice much, but I can clearly say that on some (dark) background colors (and i got a few on my Tree & Catalog ;)) those new ones are much better :D

Old Icons

Post by phatmankerr »

Looks like we are in the minority, but I agree with j_c_hallgren - prefer the old + - icons (they are slightly retro but very clean looking).

Don't want to stand in the way of progress or go overboard on options but an option for the 'Classic' look icons sounds good to me.

I prefer the old ones myself also.

Well, I guess I'll put in my 2 cents, for what it's worth:

I like the new ones. I find they stand out more than the old ones. IMHO.

I like them, too. But I added the choice anyway. I have a weak spot for retro! :)

No, probably the new ones are even faster. But I did not measure it. It can only be a couple micro-seconds anyway...

Sure, better and faster is my motto (is that English?? maybe "slogan"...) as a programmer!

Checking "flat plus-minus icons" removes flat icons and shows new icons. isnt it supposed to be otherway round??

Yep. I tricked myself out by adding a new option for the old style. :)
