XYPlorer not opening folder shortcuts on desktop

I have a folder shortcut on the desktop. When I double click on it the XYplorer window blinks(like it opened something) but the folders do not change.... Not sure if this is a bug or some setting.

I have set XYplorer to take over windows explorer and want to use it. I have not had this problem before and just seemed to occur. This is on Win8.

Cannot explain. Should definitely work. (And does here, XP). Might be some Win8 thing.
