a two-column favorites feature would be clever...

I'm not sure if xyscripts let you build popup lists with 2 columns (I guess it would be 4, if each had an icon column at its left). While using Flux's SessionManager though, I got to thinking of a similar idea...

A favorites (i.e. bookmark) TB button that has 2 columns:

|first item on the left | first item on the right|
|next item on the left | next item on the right|
etc...

Each item that gets marked as a favorite shows up on both sides (i.e. left and right columns are identical).

If XYplorer is in dual-pane mode, then clicking an item in the left column opens the item in the left pane (regardless of whether it's the active pane). Same for the right... Clicking the item in the right column opens the folder in the right pane.
This doesn't change the in/active pane.

I guess if you were in single-pane mode, then clicking the left would = active pane; and right would = inactive(?)

It's doesn't completely cover what you're describing, but holding Ctrl+Shift while clicking a Favorite from the current Favorites button, opens it in the inactive pane. It doesn't cover the dual pane enabling and pane activation, however.

I don't think two separate columns are possible, although custom drop-down ones are. However, you could define the button so that a default left-click drop-down list opens locations in the default pane, while a right-click drop-down list opens them in the active pane?

Oh I didn't realize the Ctrl+Shift+Click options was there... Thanks for the tip. I suppose it makes more sense to just use the built-in option, rather than writing a script that does essentially the same thing...

I do have to say that Alt+Click makes more sense (Given Alt+Click in the Tree).

On mine Alt+Click does nothing. Alt+Dbl-Click Opens the stock Properties Panel....

Note that I purged my KB shortcuts, then added the ones I knew I'd use--so maybe I broke mine... I don't think anything involving clicking gets purged along with the KB shortcuts though (?)

I'm confused myself: if I hold Alt now, the drop-down menu now closes before I can click. I do have a Logitech mouse however , which may have acted up last night.

As for why Alt isn't usable in both the Favorites button drop-down menu, nor in the Favorites > Favorite Folders menu, the regular function of Alt closing open menu's, may explain why.
The trick seems to be to click and hold, then press Alt, and then release.
