Rename Special recursively?

Is it possible to do a "rename special -> search and replace" recursively for all files within all subfolders?

Not without scripting.

1.) "rename special -> xyz" works with all selected files.
2.) to select files from sub-folders too, use first "Edit > Show All Items In Branch"
