Cannot sort Favorite Folders and Favorite Files lists

I cannot sort the Favorite Folders and Favorite File lists - the Up, Down and Sort buttons are greyed out. And I cannot find a configuration setting that might affect this. Am I missing something very simple?

They are auto-sorted alphabetically.
