My first post.
I joined via GOTD, then - highly impressed - I bought the lifetime pro package from today's Bitsdujour offer. So you're all stuck with me now :-). But I love the product. But now down to business.
I run my system such that it creates overnight incremental backups - on an external disc - of anything I change (program is Cobain Black Moon). And then when I don't need the incremental stuff anymore because I've got a new full backup I delete the old incremental files.
So I tried deleting the February incremental files today, using XYPLorer. It's doing it, but it's taking forever - much longer than I recollect Windows explorer performing the same task. However the PC still remains usable - these deletions are going on as I type this. I think that Windows Explorer slowed my machine much more but finished the job quicker.
So does XYplorer deliberately do tasks like this in the background using little resources, but thus taking longer.

Thanks Grindax, I don't use MSE. I do use McAfee, only because it's provided free by BT.
I'm not particularly complaining at all - I just want to improve my understanding of how XYPlorer works. My PC now remains usable with these deletions going on. Whereas using WE, I could delete a month's worth of incrementals but I tended to start the process off, override any warnings and then go to the the pub. Because the PC was so slow whilst it was doing it...
Does XYplorer deliberately not hog resources? But therefore take longer to accomplish a major task?
