* Branch View: From now on, when folders are not listed themselves in the Branch View (e.g. because they are hidden for having the SYSTEM attribute) then also their contents are not listed. Reason: There should never be a case where the contents are shown but not the hidden/system folder, because that is when the list becomes inaccurate and misleading (because of files being indented under folders in which they don't belong). Note that the Find Files logic is different: If a folder is hidden, its contents might still be listed in the Search Results if they match the search filters.
Don, I'm very concerned about this change. Are you saying that if you View | Show Items |Show System Files and Folders and the other combinations that enable SYSTEM and HIDDEN the Branch View doesn't represent these settings? Or the Branch View is dependent on these settings under "Show Items" :?:

I believe the statement means that branch view didn't but now it does respect the 'show hidden/system files' settings;
But find files might still show them regardless of those settings.

I interpret it as that a non-hidden/system file located within a hidden/system folder was previously showing in branch view which was misleading because it thus made the file appear to be within the folder listed above/prior to that one...so now all files within hidden/system folders will temporarily "inherit" that attribute but only for purposes of branch view.

In other words, in BV, to show a child (file), its parent (folder) must also be seen or the child appears to belong to uncle/aunt (another folder) so if the parent isn't shown, none of its children show regardless of the child's atributes.

If you had option set to show hidden/system items, it was never an issue because then the hidden/system folder would have showed and any files within it would appear correctly...it was only when you were not showing hidden/system that issue occured.

And the change log says to me that this "inherit" doesn't apply to search because you'd want to see true results.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

When the message data was originally consumed by the vessel, it was totally exhausted, now brain understands basic rock theory and this thread can be closed. :oops: :wink:

Thanks for the feedback!
