I just got Xyplorer today via GAOTD. It seems a little complicated, but I know I'm going to love it when I get used to it.
One thing I can't figure out is how to make each folder have its own view. For example, I want my photo folders to show "large thumbnails". But I want my data folders to show "details".
Whenever I change the view by hitting VIEW > Views, it seems to change to that default for EVERY folder on my computer. How do I get each folder to have its own individual view?
And is there a way to click on a thumbnail and have it open in XYplorer rather than Windows Photo Viewer?

FOLDER VIEWS
Re: FOLDER VIEWS
Thanks for your quick answer, grindax!
So for each folder I open, I have to tell XY the folder view I want, and then I have to save that folder view?
Not complaining, but why can't it just automatically remember the view like Windows Explorer does? Is there a way to do that?
And is there a way to make the View apply to all sub-folders? I have a lot of pictures I'd like to view with Thumbnails, and the sub-folders go deep.

PS, I did add the "Folder View Settings" button. Makes it a lot easier!

Now that you have FVS button on toolbar, right-click and click "Define this folder view as default".
Yes, right-click FVS button and choose edit and check "Include subfolders".pegasus wrote: And is there a way to make the View apply to all sub-folders? I have a lot of pictures I'd like to view with Thumbnails, and the sub-folders go deep.
Re: FOLDER VIEWS
thank you so much. I also got the software from GOTD and this was my first question. So thanks for asking it and thanks for the answer!
Re: FOLDER VIEWS
Ahh! Thanks serendipity! Right clicking the button! That never occurred to me!
This is going to be a learning experience, and I (as well as other GOTD members, I'm sure) are going to inundate y'all with questions in the next few days (and maybe weeks).
So far, with the help of existing users here on the forum, I'm falling in love with this program. The "Mouse Down Blow Up" feature alone makes it a keeper!!! When you have as many photos as I do, this is the easiest way ever to view an individual photo (it's instantaneous!!!!)
Thanks so much for your help so far -- I'm sure you'll be hearing from me a few more times before I've mastered XY.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
