XYplorer Hangs While Selecting Mkv Files

Hello,

I don't know if this is a bug cause I am not very techie but I'll report it just in case.

When I select some mkv files in XY the application hangs and I get a dialog that says:

This action cannot be completed because the other
application is busy. Choose Switch To to activate
the busy application and correct the problem.
[_Switch To..._] [ Retry Cancel]


I am not trying to preview the files but just select them just to be clear.

I tried the same thing in Windows explorer and in 2 more File Managers and I don't have a problem working with these files.

I am on Windows 7 x64 using XY 10.70.100

Yes that appears to be the culprit.

Do I have to keep the Tips disabled or is there a way around this or will you be able to fix it in the future?

All I could do quickly is add a way to exclude MKV files from File Info Tips.

You might experiment if a certain field of the File Info Tips is causing the delay (and the untick that field in Configuration).

All I could do quickly is add a way to exclude MKV files from File Info Tips.

You might experiment if a certain field of the File Info Tips is causing the delay (and the untick that field in Configuration).

I am not in a hurry to be honest since the problem is solved although at a cost so I can wait for a proper fix down the road but If it is helpful to you I can certainly try to pinpoint what is causing the problem.

I remember having a similar problem a couple of years ago. I changed the settings to display the File Info Tips only when hovering the file icon and it was fixed for me.

Argh it's 260 types and there is no way to select\deselect them all at once or in groups (ctrl+a,shift+click, ctrl+click option request!

Select\deselect them all at once works via right-click menu.

I would focus on the video-related things...
