I use the Windows recent documents quite a lot and I noticed whatever I open does not end up being added there.. Is there an XY option I have missed, which controls that behaviour?
For completeness: I am using Win XP SP3
Opened files are not added to Window's recent documents list

Re: Opened files are not added to Window's recent documents
There is a tweak:
1 = notify system of opened docs, 2 = of opened locations, 3 = both
The locations part does not work reliably though. It's the system's fault.
Code: Select all
AddToRecentDocs=1The locations part does not work reliably though. It's the system's fault.

Re: Opened files are not added to Window's recent documents
Thank you.. just now noticed the answer.. (for some reason I did not receive mail notification on this topic)
Re: Opened files are not added to Window's recent documents
Well.. it seems it doesn't work with 1 either.. I am using the latest version 10.80.. have set the setting to 1 in XYPlorer.Ini and no luck so far..
Re: Opened files are not added to Window's recent documents
Yeah.. I did not follow that procedure yesterday, but it was OK.. (I went to that INI using WinExplorer, edited it and then started XYPlorer)
It seems it works in most cases after all.. I reported it not working as some files are not reported and it just happened that I tested with them yesterday..
The files not going into the list are not in a temporary folder (as far as I have noticed even WinExplorer does not save files from my Windows Temp folders) and are with XLSX extension (Office 2007 and Office 2010 excel files). I see a number of other files saved - txt, mp4, flv, ahk, zip..
Some kind of glitch I guess..

Re: Opened files are not added to Window's recent documents
From XY's POV this functionality is totally trivial, I don't see where there could possibly be a bug. I cannot understand why some files are not added to the list, but I confirm that it sometimes happens also here.

yes it doesnt work. AddToRecentDocs=1 still add locations to %HomePath%\Recent
