Is it possible to get the Explorer context menu when clicking in the "canvas" (i.e. not on a file or folder) of the file list window? Having the XY options like View and Sort is cool, but I would like to be able to reach other commands such as SVN checkout etc.
Thanks!

Explorer context menu in list canvas?
I have vague plans for World Domination
Re: Explorer context menu in list canvas?
The problem (shared with Windows Explorer) is determining what the shell extensions should act on, as there's no selection. Do you mean the entire folder should be acted on?Miguel Melo wrote:Is it possible to get the Explorer context menu when clicking in the "canvas" (i.e. not on a file or folder) of the file list window? In that case XYplorer would have to fib to show the context menu for the folder, even though the canvas rather than the specific folder is selected?

Here's a tweak to Popup the Shell menu for the current folder:
Code: Select all

Yeah... for me it would be ok to lie and show the context for the folder (as if you had clicked on the tree). In my Windows 7 that's what Explorer does anyway.

That worked perfectly - Thanks!admin wrote:Here's a tweak to Popup the Shell menu for the current folder:Code: Select all

Glad to hear it's working, but I'm confused by your Windows Explorer observation: on Windows 7, I don't get the context menu with the shell extensions when clicking on empty space. What view settings do you use?Miguel Melo wrote:Yeah... for me it would be ok to lie and show the context for the folder (as if you had clicked on the tree). Re: Explorer context menu in list canvas?
I tried it on both Large Icons and Details modes on two different W7 machines, and I get the win explorer context (w/ extensions) on all cases. Is there any particular setting you want me to check out?nas8e9 wrote: Glad to hear it's working, but I'm confused by your Windows Explorer observation: on Windows 7, I don't get the context menu with the shell extensions when clicking on empty space. Thanks for the info. I still can't find it, but as it's a non-problem for both of us...Miguel Melo wrote:I tried it on both Large Icons and Details modes on two different W7 machines, and I get the win explorer context (w/ extensions) on all cases.
