I noticed that it is possible to change color of selected item background only for inactive pane. Is it possible to make it on currently active pane just like windows explorer? The dark blue color is not eye friendly.

You can also change the background of a selected item in active pane. Look at color style options like "Selected rows" and "focused item" in menu Tools>Configuration>Color & Styles > List.
And, the dark blue color you see is a windows thing, you can change it from "windows color and appearance" on win7. (Forgot how it was in XP)
