Script Request - File Distributor.

I'd like to have a script to auto-distribute "x" files to user-define-able named folders, or across "y" folders.
So if I have (yes, I do have... ) a folder containing 12k files, I could tell the script to:
-sort them into packs of 500 files or
-sort them into 12 packs (12.560/ 12 = ~1046 files)
-into folders having "gathered HTMs" as base name
-auto-numbered accordingly (gathered HTMs_01... gathered HTMs12 or 25, depending on the resulting pack).
Perhaps using a max amount of files on each folder (in MB or bytes, for instance) as a parameter would be good, as an option.
