Can I synchronise several nested folders deep?

Post by hulland »

I am using Ctrl + F6 to copy from a very full set of drives to a new I Tb drive. I only have 83 folders ( My Music) but several are 4 or 5 folders deep. "All" folders have copied but the net difference is some 450 files short( somewhere internally). I think the ones not copied have been renamed by a tag program and they have files names "too long" to copy. Is there an easy way to find which 450 folders have been missed? In other words can I synchronise the two locations but do it several folders deep at the same time please?

Use the "Backup To Other Pane" (Ctrl+Shift+F6) command with the latest version (9.80.0000). Should work with overlong filenames and foldernames.

Note that you can configure the behavior of the copying in Configuration | File Operations | Backup Operations ...

Thanks for a speedy reply--sorry to ask, but these days it is faster than wading through pages of help--I DID look first anyway --will try that. Edit;--WHAT a powerful command! Worked flawlessly, now to make use of that for the next 780 gigabytes! Really useful- Many many thanks. XYP just gets better.
