Path in the Address bar remains blank after delete
If I delete the path (eg. C:\Program Files\) in the address bar and click somewhere on the list the path remains blank. I would expect the path to reappear. Interestingly the path remains blank even after i click the folder (eg. C:\Program Files\) in the tree. Path reappears if i click some other folder in the tree. Is this normal or a bug??

True in 4.40.0058 but try version 4.40.0060. It appears to have been cured by a bug I reported related to saving entries in the "Menu | Go | Go to..." entry box.
Edit later.
Having said that, it appears that hidden folders are not displayed at all from the history list in the address bar. "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu" is the obvious one to try. If "Start Menu" is a new entry, then it is displayed but not from an old history entry.
Later I then discovered it depends on the trailing "\" in the address - no "\" means no display. The entries that were not displayed (nothing to do with hidden) after being selected from the history list had no trailing "\".
Code: Select all
! Menu Go, Go to...: a new entry would not be added to the common
drop down history list (of "Go to..." and address bar). Fixed.Having said that, it appears that hidden folders are not displayed at all from the history list in the address bar. It is normal: Explorer does it the same.surrender wrote:If I delete the path (eg. C:\Program Files\) in the address bar and click somewhere on the list the path remains blank. It's true, however, that hidden destinations are not handled in a satisfying way yet. I will pop a message: "destination currently hidden"...

Oh sorry, I shud have checked it before posting. But I have not used explorer in ages. But dont you think having the path to reappear would be useful?? you can claim this as another plus for XY compared to explorer.admin wrote:It is normal: Explorer does it the same.
