favorites - short name rather than full path or URL

can I name my favorites instead of having the whole path or url show up as the name of the favorite? Seems simple enough - I'm probably overlooking something.

You can achieve similar effect using aliases.
May not suit your workstyle but is an option.

But probably you prefer this:
Via Tools > List Management > Favorite Folders, you can assign captions.
