A couple Search Panel wishes

Post by highstream »

In using the Search Panel/Find Files tab, I keep looking for the following two functions that don't seem to be there:

1) a Clear button, which would be especially helpful for clearing content search text and choices; those seem to hang around for the next search if one's not careful, and

2) a Close X on the Panel, so one doesn't have to go back up to the toolbar icon

I'd be glad to find out these are already there, but so far I don't see them.

Thanks,

Does the Reset Filters button on the right of the Info Panel not do what you'd expect it to do?
2) a Close X on the Panel, so one doesn't have to go back up to the toolbar icon
The easiest workaround is probably to enable Configuration > Advanced > Click on status bar toggles info panel. This way, when the IP is open, clicking the status bar on top of it closes the IP.

Hi Highstream,

Welcome, I'm new here but I think I may be able to help...

I think that the Reset Filters button does what you are after.

I can't see a close button but pressing F12 will toggle the pane on and off.

Hope this helps,

Ach

On first try, Reset seems to clear a lot more than I want, namely those items checked on the right, underneath the button (which I don't seem to be able to get back now!). Those seem to have remained the same and worked well for me since as long as I can remember. My idea was to clear just what has been entered in the main fields, such as Content.

Click on status bar effectively gets what I want. Thanks.
