But having large buttons+many buttons makes my address bar so small that the information i get out of it is useless. Can you provide a tweak to define the minimum address bar width? That way i can get sufficient info from AB and avail the scroll/overflow if i need more buttons.

Address bar width
I like the scrollable toolbar and the new overflow thing.

Don said (http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 095#p44095) that something is planned, so we can look forward to that

Re: Address bar width
I had posted something about this in the other thread:
j_c_hallgren wrote: And as shown, increasing the min width of AB to 100 still doesn't make it really usable...I still would love a setting somewhere that would provide the min pixel count that we want instead of a fixed value.
Now that we have dropdown, I would gladly shove some TB icons to 'overflow' to get a somewhat usable AB but since I have no way of defining where that split occurs, I'm kinda stuck with a tiny AB.

Re: Address bar width
Could you maybe just put the AB pixel width on the "Customize TB" panel under the scroll opt? As there really isn't a Config section that would be good for it that I see...yes, drag of splitter would be nice but a nbr would do for now.admin wrote:I see. I will add something. (I have no time now to add another splitter to do resizing by dragging.)
Or in interim, 'tweak' it?

Re: Address bar width
Personally i think the default size of AB should be 20-25% of the XY window width.
Off-Topic: never mind this post, i removed the AB altogether from my layout and assigned this code to one key.

Code: Select all

Just to point out that if it's put in the Customize TB dialog it would probably make more sense to reverse the logic and make it "Maximum TB Width" so that it doesn't feel entirely out of place.j_c_hallgren wrote:Could you maybe just put the AB pixel width on the "Customize TB" panel under the scroll opt? Re: Address bar width
All this applies to layouts [AB & TB] and [TB & AB]. With layouts [AB] [TB] and [TB] [AB] both AB and TB will remain maximum. I haven't looked at menus more carefully, but at this point seems like leaving this to tweak is less complicated.TheQwerty wrote:Just to point out that if it's put in the Customize TB dialog it would probably make more sense to reverse the logic and make it "Maximum TB Width" so that it doesn't feel entirely out of place.j_c_hallgren wrote:Could you maybe just put the AB pixel width on the "Customize TB" panel under the scroll opt? Re: Address bar width
And we have a tweak as of now:
Code: Select all
v8.80.0326 - 2010-03-02 20:06
* Address Bar and other controls that might share a row with the
Toolbar: Now their minimal width defaults to 400 pixels -- we have
the space now because we have the overflow dropdown!
You can tweak this number in the INI file under this key:
