Whenever I set up XY from scratch (which is every time I upgrade), one thing that irks me is that I have to set up the list pane three times - for Browse mode, Find mode, and Recycler mode. And while there are minor differences between them (the additional columns such as Path, Deleted timestamp, etc...), the bulk of the settings are the same.
Just as you can copy the list settings from one pane into the other, it would be nice if there were a command to copy the list settings from the Browse mode (since that is going to be the most central mode) into whatever mode you're in.

I know that you do that ever since but it's still kind of shocking to me.Mesh wrote:Whenever I set up XY from scratch (which is every time I upgrade), one thing that irks me is that ...
Future feature Snippets will come in handy for you ... but then again I don't see why you would trust snippets more than your own INI file...

Do you have any idea how many times users get told "You're having a problem? And you upgraded to the latest version? Try uninstalling and doing a clean install to the latest version."?
It's far too often to count. I skip all those problems by doing a clean install every time.
Keep in mind that I don't do that with all software - I'll install the patch upgrades to Windows, Adobe apps, etc... because they are, in fact, incremental updates. But whenever I have an app that upgrades by doing a full install and overwriting the old app... if I'm going to do that, I might as well do a clean install and get the benefit of the better method.
That being said, I don't know anything about Snippets. But I was thinking that this wasn't that different from having the "copy list settings from other pane" feature.
