Hello!
I really like XYplorer, however it lacks but one feature that would make me actually love it: when I press the Back/Up button I would like it to automatically highlight the folder I was previously in. This is for fast deleting/renaming.
Thanks for your attention

Thanks, I didn't know about that, but still, I would like the same thing to happen when I use my mouse rather than my keyboard.

No problem: Configuration / General / Dbl-click on empty space goes up <- check this and Dbl-click on list white space will do your thing.boogiepop wrote:Thanks, I didn't know about that, but still, I would like the same thing to happen when I use my mouse rather than my keyboard.

Alright, that's one step forward to granting my wish. Now if you could get the Back button to act the same way...

The Back button acts almost the same way already. The item is focused but not selected. For a rename this is enough: press F2 and you are in rename mode. For a delete you have to select (press SPACE).boogiepop wrote:Alright, that's one step forward to granting my wish. Now if you could get the Back button to act the same way...

You could always replace XY's back and forward buttons with custom buttons that perform the button's action followed by selecting the focused item; which might be a little bit closer to what you had in mind.
For example: Although I'm not having any luck getting the dropdown arrow to work correctly in this manner. It's just showing me an empty menu. Any thoughts, Don?

Your trick did exactly what I needed, and I never even use the dropdown history button so it's all good, thank you.TheQwerty wrote:You could always replace XY's back and forward buttons with custom buttons that perform the button's action followed by selecting the focused item; which might be a little bit closer to what you had in mind.

Bug. Fixed. No mention in change log because too long to explain.TheQwerty wrote:Although I'm not having any luck getting the dropdown arrow to work correctly in this manner. It's just showing me an empty menu. Any thoughts, Don?
BTW: the blue buttons would be :backtab and :foretab.
