As asked for in another thread, I would like to see duplicate-finding abilities in XYplorer. I recently had to trawl through 100s of files totalling several TBs, so doing it manually wasn't an option. I had to resort to a freeware tool quickly found using Google. The result? Dupes worth dozens of GBs were deleted, freeing up much-needed space. Running this kind of maintenance will be a regular feature of my file management. Thus, despite already having a free tool that does the job, I would welcome this functionality :)

For those who need an excellent program to find duplicates, before (and if) this feature is introduced here, try Raxco's PerfectDisk. It's main function is a file defragmentation tool but it has a duplicates finder feature. It doesn't just find files with the same name. It finds duplicates for ANY type of file (including music, video, executables, etc.) regardless of its file name. I stumbled on to this feature after having had this program for a year. It's saved me days of time and hard disk space. It's not expensive, or for those who use torrent sites, download the serials there and download the trial version on the official website.

as a first post on a forum, sending people to download cracked/stolen apps is not really smart if one day you need some help with your genuine xyplorer app

not welcome

I wasn't providing any serial #s or cracks for any program. Anyhow, PerfectDisk does have a trial version (just like XYplorer) for anyone to test drive it and the duplicates finder.
Nor will I ever be asking for help here as this isn't the only file manager I use--although it is one of my top 3--since it doesn't have some features of PowerDeskPro from Avanquest. However, XYplorer is feature rich and I have recommended it to all my friends and colleagues.
